Birds Theory is a family-owned and operated exotic bird specialty facility built on trust, care, and a lifelong passion for birds. Over the years, our family business has grown alongside loyal customers who appreciate our friendly atmosphere and personalized service. We take pride in offering a remarkable variety of exotic species, including African Greys, Amazons, Caiques, Conures, Cape Parrots, Cockatoos, Macaws, and many more that bring color and joy to every home.
Beyond our larger parrots, we also lovingly raise smaller birds such as Finches, Canaries, Parrotlets, and Cockatiels. Our fully licensed facility in Bloomington, Illinois, is where all our baby birds are hand-raised, nurtured, and socialized with care. Each bird is abundance-weaned, fully fledged, and comfortable with both people and other birds, ensuring they grow into healthy, confident companions ready to connect with their new families.

I purchased a Moluccan Cockatoo from Gregory, and it was the most pleasant experience. The bird I received was happy, healthy, and full of personality. He didn’t take long at all to warm up to me and already shows a strong love for fresh fruits and vegetables.

I recently got a Moluccan Cockatoo from Birds Theory and couldn’t be happier with my decision! He arrived in excellent physical condition, and I was informed he had all the necessary vaccinations. To be extra cautious, I took him to my regular avian vet and received a clean bill of health.
It’s been a few weeks now, and I can confidently say he has been adjusting beautifully to his new home. His personality is already shining through, and he’s been a joy to have around. Anna was incredibly responsive and answered all of my questions promptly, which made the entire process smooth and reassuring. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to add a parrot to their family.
Since day one Gregory was awesome, I was between a Blue Headed Macaw and a Blue Fronted Amazon, but for a family dynamic the Macaw was the best decision for us and the communication was and still is great very quick to respond the experience in general has been great, we are in love with the new member of our family she is lovely and can’t wait continuing building memories with her.
