Description
Blue-Headed Macaw (Primolius couloni)
The Blue-Headed Macaw is a medium-sized, striking parrot from South America, especially Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. Its slate-blue head, bright green body, and deep blue wing tips make it one of the most visually stunning macaws.
These macaws are intelligent, gentle, and social. While they enjoy human interaction and can learn simple sounds, they are generally quieter than larger macaw species. Their calm demeanor makes them suitable for enthusiasts looking for a smaller, manageable macaw without compromising personality.
Blue-Headed Macaws are about 20 inches long and enjoy active play, climbing, and mental stimulation. Regular interaction helps them build strong bonds with their owners and keeps them happy and healthy.
